There are many sources of damage, what I can agree with is that damage occurs and accumulated damage can lead to ageing. For example, when you get rheumatoid arthritis that can increase your risk of death by compounding problems. The theories that focus on one source of damage are a bit 'meh' to me because we can identify tonnes of sources of cellular damage (environmental toxins, UV radiation, viruses, bacterial infections, inherited problems even) whilst still including free radicals for example as a 'single' source, its not the answer to all existing damage. Another issue is that the body for whatever reason hasn't evolved repair mechanisms which are designed for the task of keeping us alive indefinitely in the first place. For example, scar tissue is formed versus the full repair and the body never has a reason to replace that later because its likely it was good enough for us to have evolved that way. If most people die after they reproduce, does it matter for us to evolve a mechanism to live longer? There are even advantages for us to not keep the same sets of genes around for the long term because genetic drift is what helps us adapt to our changing environments (not saying we should get rid of older generations, just that on an evolutionary level the gene's interest is not necessarily dependent on an individual's survival). Think about it, our genes have been around since the start of all life, genes already are immortal. We aren't. If the gene has a solution to live forever, why make a new one? That doesn't matter anyway, the process of living forever is the process of finding and fixing points of failure before they occur. If your genes are damaged or need changing, theoretically you can repair or replace them with genetic engineering already. If you want epigenetic information changed, that too. You can use tissue grafting, stem cells, to replace old cells and as long as you can keep on figuring out how to replace the parts failing, you'll live indefinitely.

One question, if someone is cloned, especially a young person, would the clone be considered a sibling or a son/daughter of the person they were cloned from? And if the clone was to date someone related to their original host, would that be considered incest since they’re technically cloned from that person and thus be considered a relative of that person as well?

I feel like Metal Gear Solid really proves the genuine terrifying use of a mech, the fact every Metal Gear can house an ICM or ICBM is scary; I mean one was literally just made to launch a government ending Nuke. They also carry rail guns due to their immense size, and some have flame throwers, and can even house land-mines. The US or any government could spend a fortune and get what they would research and develop for tbh.

Really, for something like this to be used, it would need to be more like a personal "warp bubble", using similar tech to how spaceships travel. You'd be sent at the speed of light someplace.

The real hurdle preventing us from doing this is not technical anything can be overcome with technology especially faster than light travel (FTL or Warp Drive) but the real issue is the same thing that’s preventing mankind from getting off this rock and into space is: MONEY!!! No politician wants to take money from his or her pocket and try to benefit mankind with it that is why the Apollo program was cancelled because congress wanted to keep the bucks for themselves so if that wasn’t the case (and it is) and the space program continued we would have already colonized the solar system and be moving out into space by now.
